  • Page Numbering

    The page numbers of a publication.
  • Pagination

    Orienting a multi-page document into printer spreads.
  • Pantone

    The Pantone matching system (PMS) consists of spot colors (“special colors”) from Pantone LLC.
  • Paper Format

    The standard sizes for international paper formats (DIN/ISO) are calculated by halving the next largest format: A0 (841 x 1189 mm), A1 (594 x 841 mm), A2 (420 x 594 mm), A3 (297 x 420 mm), A4 (210 x 297 mm), A5 (148 x 210 mm), A6 (105 x 148 mm), DIN lang (105 x 210 mm).
  • PDF

    Abbreviation for Portable Document Format. This file format enables documents to be displayed and shared regardless of the original software, hardware or operating system.
  • Pictogram

    A graphical figure with an internationally understandable meaning.
  • Pixel (px)

    The smallest element of an image file. The resolution of an image, which is specified in pixels per inch or pixels per centimeter, is important in this context. On the Internet, the absolute pixels are relevant for the height and width of an image. If you digitize an image for the Internet and do not change its size or only make the image smaller, a resolution of 72 pixels per inch will be sufficient.
  • PNG

    Abbreviation for Portable Network Graphics. A graphics format for raster graphics that allows compression without loss of data. PNG supports depth of color and transparency.
  • Point (pt)

    Typographical unit of measurement. Font sizes are measured in points. Various sizes are defined for the typographical point. In desktop publishing (DTP), the following applies: 1 pt = 0.3527 mm.
  • Postscript

    The page description language PostScript, developed by Adobe, presents characters and graphical elements in such a manner that they can be output by the printer or imagesetter in the highest possible resolution, irrespective of their size.
  • POTX/PPTX

    The file format for presentation templates or presentations created using MS PowerPoint.
  • Ppi

    Abbreviation for Pixels per Inch. Unit of measurement for the resolution of a scanner that specifies the number of square pixels per inch of the template.
  • PPT/PPTX

    The file format for presentations with MS PowerPoint.
  • Print Lacquering

    A protective lacquer that serves to protect the surface of a print item against abrasion and external influences.
  • Promotional Logo

    Signet for temporary use, e.g. for projects or events.
  • Proof

    Normally, digitally produced printout for assessing the quality of printed image information prior to the production print.
  • Public Relations (PR)

    Targeted addressing of the general public (partners, customers, government bodies, investors, etc.). The objective is to win public confidence and understanding.
