1. Copyrights

Copyright Mercedes-Benz AG. All rights reserved. The text, images, graphics, sound files, animation files, video files and their arrangement are all subject to copyright and other intellectual property protection. These objects may not be copied for commercial use or distribution, nor may these objects be modified or reposted to websites without the prior written approval of the Mercedes-Benz AG’s legal department or Communications & Marketing – Corporate Identity (MS/CSS) department.

2. Locking of User Accounts

Mercedes-Benz AG reserves the right to deactivate user accounts anytime and without prior notice in any case of inappropriate usage of an account.  

3. Trademarks

Unless otherwise indicated, all marks are subject to the trademark rights of Mercedes-Benz Group, including each of Mercedes-Benz Group’s primary brands, its model name plates, and its corporate logos and emblems.

4. No Warranties or Representations

The “Daimler Brand & Design Navigator“ online uses product photos in the application examples shown to illustrate the Corporate Design of Mercedes-Benz Group’s subsidiaries with Daimler as part of their company name. The creatively composed visualizations are not intended to provide any objective product information, but rather to demonstrate in an explanatory way the design principles defined in the set of rules and standards.

Should individual explanatory images or related captions contain product-related information in part or in full, this is provided by Mercedes-Benz AG “as is” and without warranty of any kind, expressed or implied, including (but not limited to) any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for any particular purpose, or non-infringement. While the information provided is believed to be accurate, it may include errors or inaccuracies.

5. No Licenses

Mercedes-Benz AG has sought to achieve an innovative and informative online portal. We hope that you will be as enthusiastic as we are about this creative effort. However, you also need to understand that Mercedes-Benz AG must protect its intellectual property, including its patents, trademarks and copyrights. Accordingly, please appreciate that no license to Mercedes-Benz AG’s intellectual property has been granted by the “Daimler Brand & Design Navigator” online portal.

6. Usage and Distribution of the Daimler Corporate ASE Font Family

Subsidiaries bearing Daimler as part of their company name use the Daimler Corporate ASE font family designed by Prof. Kurt Weidemann and produced by URW Type Foundry GmbH/Monotype GmbH as part of their Corporate Design.

It is permitted for Mercedes-Benz AG to distribute the corporate typeface free of charge to external third parties (agencies and suppliers), provided that the fonts are used exclusively to fulfill orders from Mercedes-Benz AG and Daimler name-bearing subsidiaries or to Mercedes-Benz authorized dealers and service partners. A requirement for this is possession of an authorized, registered user account for the “Daimler Brand & Design Navigator” online portal. The external partner must register and complete the request for an access upgrade for the fonts.

A forwarding or transfer of font files external third parties by Mercedes-Benz AG’s employees and employees of subsidiaries bearing Daimler as part of their company name or employees of Mercedes-Benz authorized dealers and service partners is not permissible due to the required documentation obligation.

The usage right granted after access request on the “Daimler Brand & Design Navigator” online portal is authorized cannot be transferred to third parties; this is prohibited for reasons of copyright and licensing agreements (except for service providers). Authorized users may under no circumstances make their login data available to third parties. The joint use of login data is not permissible.

An installation of font files can be done on up to five work stations within the external partner organization. An exception to this requires the prior written consent of Mercedes-Benz AG.

All common forms of use, i.e. desktop (Adobe InDesign or MS Office programs) and ePub (web embedding, web server, mobile apps, etc.), are permitted without restrictions.

Changes of any kind to the configuration settings or display characteristics of the font files are not permitted. Webfonts in the EOT, SVG, TTF, WOFF, and WOFF2 file formats are optimized for screen display in various browsers and may therefore not be modified. Furthermore, during the embedding of the webfont, it should be noted that the individual files may not be renamed and they must be sufficiently protected within the system environment.

The corporate brand Mercedes-Benz AG as well as subsidiaries with Mercedes-Benz as part of the company name and the product brand Mercedes-Benz use the Mercedes-Benz Corpo A and Corpo S font family designed by Edenspiekermann AG and produced by URW Type Foundry GmbH/Monotype GmbH as part of their Corporate Design or its Brand Design.

The brand smart uses the “FOR smart Next” font as part of its Brand Design.

It is permitted for Mercedes-Benz AG (smart) to distribute the “FOR smart Next” font free of charge to external third parties (agencies and suppliers), provided that the fonts are used exclusively to fulfill orders from Mercedes-Benz AG (smart) and to smart authorized dealers and service partners. A requirement for this is possession of an authorized, registered user account for the “smart Brand Navigator” (Daimler Brand & Design Navigator) online portal. The external partner must register and complete the request for an access upgrade for the FOR smart Next fonts.

A forwarding or transfer of font files to external third parties by Mercedes-Benz AG’s (smart) employees or employees of smart authorized dealers and service partners is not permissible due to the required documentation obligation.

The usage right granted after access request on the “smart Brand Navigator” (Daimler Brand & Design Navigator) online portal is authorized cannot be transferred to third parties; this is prohibited for reasons of copyright and licensing agreements (except for service providers).
