Specific principles apply to all Daimler Truck Financial communications and are to be observed when designing brochures and other applications. This creates a uniform appearance throughout Daimler Truck Financial. These principles consist of four basic elements: The design area, type area, white frame, and the design grid.
Design Area, Type Area and White Frame
A design area is always smaller than the relevant format, thus creating a white frame. The type area is located within the design area. Type, images or colors may vary in arrangement on the design area or type area.
The design grid will serve as a guide to align text, images and a top margin. It can also be used to establish a horizontal axis if desired.
The design grid for all formats is made up of 11 x 12 mm sized elements. They are positioned horizontally and vertically at a 4 mm distance to each other. The baselines cross the entire design area horizontally and correspond with the design grid. They are positioned every 2 mm.
Daimler Truck Financial is required to use the design grid, baseline grid and type area to be consistent with all Daimler companies and corporate divisions.
